💚✨ Happy National School Counselor Week! ✨💚
This week, we’re celebrating our incredible school counselors who support, guide, and advocate for our students every single day. From academic planning to social-emotional support and everything in between, your dedication makes a lasting difference in our school community.
Thank you for listening, encouraging, and helping our students believe in themselves. We are so grateful for all that you do - today and always!
.

Dear Community,
We’re sending this email requesting that you provide feedback as we pilot our new Superintendent Evaluation Process.
This Board has worked diligently to establish a strong governance culture by adopting operations norms and clearly defining its role and that of our Superintendent.
The next step in our work is to evaluate Mr. Cary based on his newly defined role.
To inform our efforts, we ask that you access the completely anonymous survey at this link and respond by no later than the end of the day Friday, January 30th, if you’d like your feedback to be considered as we complete the process.
To aid you, we’ve also attached a copy of our newly defined Superintendent role.
We have asked all employees to respond to the best of their ability, and we kindly ask that our parents and community partners do the same.
With only 10 questions, two of them open-ended, this should take no more than 5 minutes to complete.
You can access the survey at this link:

We kicked off the weekend with our cheer team heading to State Cheer — they delivered a fantastic performance that made our whole school proud. Next up, our dance team took the stage with an outstanding routine and finished 5th overall in 2A/3A Dance — congratulations to each dancer for their hard work and poise!
Our weekend continued with the End of Season Tournament for our JH teams. All three teams left everything on the court — we’re so proud of your grit and teamwork.
We closed the weekend in style as both of our HS Varsity Basketball teams played in the championship games at the 2025 La Junta Holiday Shootout — and both teams brought home the championships! Way to go, Sanford School!
Thank you to our student-athletes, coaches, families, and fans for your support. Go Sanford! 🎉🏀💃📣

📢 We Need Your Input!
Sanford Schools is proud to participate in the Student-Centered Accountability Program (SCAP) — a collaborative effort among Colorado school districts designed to strengthen education through community feedback, data-driven decisions, and shared best practices.
The SCAP survey allows parents, staff, students, and community members to share their thoughts about our school’s strengths and areas for growth. This feedback helps us evaluate key areas such as instruction, leadership, culture, communication, and student support.
By completing this short survey, you are helping us continue to make Sanford Schools a place where every student can learn, grow, and succeed.

Attention Community:
We kindly ask that the preschool parking lot be used only by preschool parents/guardians for drop-off and pick-up. All other students should be picked up in the horseshoe area. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our students safe.
