Remote Learning Due to Outbreak

Remote Learning October 4-7

Dear Sanford School Community,

Due to several cases of COVID-19 and the continuation of the virus spreading among students, Sanford Schools, in cooperation with Conejos County Public Health and CDPHE,  has been placed in Outbreak Status.  To stop the spread of the Delta Variant and to keep both students and staff safe, the school will close the week of October 4th.  All students will continue to learn through remote learning provided by teachers.  It is important that all students engage in the remote learning provided so they do not fall behind in their learning.

Sanford Schools has been allowed to continue Junior High and High School athletics during this time.  It is important that students who are experiencing any symptoms do not attend athletics.  We also encourage families to stay away from others who are having COVID-19 symptoms.

The goal of being in remote learning is to stop the spread of COVID-19.  This can only happen if families stay away from others who are having COVID symptoms.  Although we will continue with athletic events, we encourage only those who are healthy and must attend the event to do so.

We will return to in-person learning on Monday, October 11.  We hope this time away from one another will stop the rapid spread of the virus we are now experiencing.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  The only way this will work is if we all support one another and isolate those who are experiencing symptoms.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,

Kevin Edgar

Superintendent
