Emergency Drill Today

April 29, 2021

Dear Sanford School Community,

Today we will release students at 2:00 p.m.  At approximately 2:30 p.m., the school will be conducting an emergency protocol drill with Staff, Conejos Sheriff’s Office, State Patrol, and Dispatch.  The purpose of this drill is to test our new communication app.  This communication tool, allows any staff member to notify our Sheriff’s Department and State Patrol in the event of an emergency.  It also allows our police responders to know the location of all staff and what decisions they have made to keep students safe.  In a real emergency, time is so important in saving lives.  It is our hope that by utilizing this technology and working with local first responders that should a real emergency occur; we might ensure the safety of all our students.  Please do not be alarmed this afternoon if you see several emergency vehicles at the school as we practice our protocols to keep students safe.

Thank you,

Kevin Edgar

Superintendent
