Junior Carnival

On Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011, the junior class held the annual Junior Carnival. The traditional festivity included a cake walk, face painting, a fish pond, a ping pong fish toss, a fortune teller, a football throw, a basketball shoot, calf roping, and darts. New to the stage this year was a tattoo booth, wheelchair races, horseshoes, beanbag toss, and the highlight was a mechanical bull. Students enjoyed popcorn, cotton candy, and suck-ers, too. Kids were running around with tiger faces, Spiderman faces, and the like, all the while clinging to their trinkets and fish. This was a great way to set the mood for Thanksgiving Break. A piñata raffle was held prior to the carnival, and the winning class was drawn at the carnival. The fourth grade class won the piñata and a bag of candy for the individual who purchased the most tickets for the fourth grade class to win. They were able to break the piñata at their leisure. Overall, the Junior Carnival was a smashing success. Thanks to anyone who helped make this great activity possible.

Secondary Curriculum

123The secondary school (7-12) is committed to preparing students for a successful future. We currently implemented the Renaissance Learning System along with the NWEA Assessment. We presently boast of four vocational programs that assist our students in meeting the life skills and career choices necessary for a secure future. We are proud that our Sanford graduates have a background of achievement by going through the highest academic requirements for every student in the State of Colorado. Receiving a unique grant opportunity, eighth graders were issued a laptop computer for the school year to assist them in meeting the nations goal of computer literacy by the end of eighth grade.

Our school district's commitment to excellence is evident in the pride that is portrayed by students and community alike. We invite visitors to see what opportunities await in a school district that defines excellence.
