Our first meet was in Sangre de Cristo. We took 2nd place in the 8th grade division, and our 7th grade team held on to 2nd place until the final written round. Our meet at Sanford was a mixed bag of helpers and participants. Our 7th grade team had to add an 8th grader and, therefore, had to compete as an 8th grade team. Both Sanford teams competing were in 2nd and 3rd until the final written round.  We ended up with one second place, and once again the written round took us out of placing further. We have a great team consisting of two eighth grade teams and one seventh grade team. Contestants are:
High Scoring 8th grader, Tristan Peterson and other scorers, Joslin Bunker, Kaydee Westberg, Austin Chavez, Kianna Hoffman, Chance Canty, Daniel Baca, Bridgett Reed, Sierra Edgar, Ashley Mayer, Lilliana Chavez and Tabitha Jarvies. Our High scoring 7th grader is Diana Hawkins by one point, with DJ Crowder close behind. Other teammates are Amber Lopez, Mario Lucero, and Ayla Lopez. We have three more regular meets: April 12th in Sierra Grande, Centauri on April 19th, and Ortega on April 26th. Our last meet will be combined with all Valley Knowledge Bowl Teams at ASC in May. You are welcome to come and watch anytime. It is a lot of fun, and the students are AMAZING!
