On the 29th of February, 2012, Amberly Edgar, Reagan Jarvis, and Savanna Faucette gave a presentation on texting and driving. The presentation held everything from statistics to gruesome videos showing the effects of texting and driving. There was also a game to quiz fellow classmates on their knowledge of texting and driving during the presentation. At the conclusion of the presentation, students were challenged to take the pledge to B.U.S.T. (Buckle Up and Stop Texting). They were then given thumb bands that read “TEXTING KILLS” to remind everyone of the dangers of texting and driving. We concluded by having every class create a flyer to show what they had learned.
