FBLA Fall News

The cookie dough sales are in and have hopefully been delivered. We would like to thank everyone who supported this fundraiser. It seems so long ago, but our annual San Luis Valley Halloween Dance was a monster success. The funds that we raised this year will go to-ward our Buckle Up and Stop Texting Campaign. Throughout the spring we will be working to educate our students of the dangers of texting and driving. We plan to have every student pledge to not text and drive. We are also be-ginning to prepare for the District Leadership Conference that will be held on February 7th at Adams State College. Students: time is passing quickly. Prepare now!

FBLA Partnership with Business

FBLA-PBL is the premier student business association. Our mission is to bring busi-ness and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leader-ship and career development programs. Last year we moved mountains by competing, do-ing service, partnering with business, writing business plans, giving business presenta-tions, and learning more about the American En-terprise System. This year the Colorado theme is Pathway to Success. We look forward to paving our own pathway with tons of success in FBLA. We have had our first organizational meeting, but all students are still welcome to join. The student dues are $20 and are due by September 22nd. If a student is interested in being an officer, the let-ters of application are due on Thursday, Septem-ber 8th. For more information, please see Mrs. Edgar.

Spook Away Cancer

Spook Away Cancer was the theme as Future Business Leaders of America came together in time of need. Students from all over the San Luis Valley gathered at Sanford High School on October 28th to dance and socialize as well as raise money for a member of the Sanford community who is fighting cancer. Dressed in a variety of costumes, the students enjoyed the spirit of Halloween while serving the community. Sanford FBLA would like to thank the chapters that were able to participate as well as the community members who donated to the cause. We would also like to thank Dominos for donating all of the pizza for the evening.
