The girls started off the year with the annual La Junta Holiday Tournament. After losing their first game to Fowler, they went on to take the Consolation Championship by defeating both Lamar and Del Norte. Before Christmas, the team participated in the annual Alamosa Shootout playing Alamosa, Buena Vista, and Pueblo Central. Losing to Pueblo Central after  back to back games in one day.

After Christmas break, basketball was fast on the road of good games and fun trips. After stealing the league title, Sanford faced Center, Custer County, and Del Norte to win District Champs and secure the home floor advantage in Regionals.

Limon, Rocky Ford, and Telluride traveled to Alamosa for Regional play. Sanford won against Limon first and Rocky Ford beat Telluride to play head to head for the Regional Title and a ticket to the Elite 8. Sanford defeated Rocky Ford and lived to play another day.

However the Indians whooped the Rams 50 to 31 proving they were a threat. The Indians went on to beat Rye in the Final Four by 45-34 to play in the Championship against Evangelical Christian Academy. After a rough first half the Indians came out with fire and lit up the third quarter and finishing the fourth quarter 31 to 28.
